Required Documents to Obtain Temporary Residence & Work Permit in Montenegro

Start with your registration. Once you operate as an entrepreneur or company, prepare the documents below to apply for residence and work authorization through the Ministry of Interior.

Valid PassportMust be valid at least 3 months beyond the intended stay.
Proof of Means of SupportBank statement or company account showing sufficient funds to live and operate (usually min. ~1,500 EUR).
Proof of AccommodationRental contract or ownership certificate.
Proof of Health InsuranceMontenegrin or international coverage valid for your stay.
Certificate of No Criminal RecordFrom your home country (not older than 6 months).
Registration DecisionProof that you’re registered as an entrepreneur or established a company in Montenegro.
Application Form and PhotoProvided by the Ministry of Interior (MUP) or filled online.
Administrative Fee Payment ReceiptApproximately 67 EUR for residence + 20 EUR for work authorization.
